This entry is primarily about a book review of an favourite illustrator recently purchased. I am refering to the artist/illustrator Victoria Frances who's work consists mainly of forlorn maidens and supernateral beings. Her work appears very gothic and mysterious. To anyone interested in Fantasy art I would fully recommend her book entitled "Favole, Stone tears". The book consists of drawings put into an order to create a narrative and it is accompanied by its own story written by Frances. The story follows a man's observations of a woman and interlinking short stories about each of the characters?drawings. The accompanying artwork is truely breathtaking, the people taking on such a realistic form as though they could jump out from the page. The intracut sdetails within the illustrations draws the viewer in even deeper and you can certainly feel yourself falling into the story. This collection is a definate "must have" for anyone interested in gothic and fantasy art.
